Shen Jie explained to reporters in the field the six major advantages of the technology.

The first is renewable compressed air energy. According to the detailed collection and analysis of urban bus operating conditions, it is found that braking conditions account for 15% of the entire vehicle operating conditions. When a conventional vehicle is running, the braking energy generated by deceleration and braking conditions becomes frictional heat loss. If it can effectively recover the energy lost during braking, this energy will be completely free and renewable energy. The renewable air hybrid technology achieves the effect of energy conservation and emission reduction by reusing the recovered energy through the addition of patented compressed air recovery devices and compressed air storage tanks to achieve braking energy recovery.

The second is having excellent fuel efficiency. For the special driving conditions of urban buses, Regenerative Start-Stop (renewable start-stop) can be achieved using renewable air hybrids. The fuel saving rate can reach more than 6% in some typical cities (such as Beijing and Shanghai). The oil rate can reach more than 10%. At the same time, the use of compressed air recovery, the vehicle pneumatic device to supplement gas supply compensation, reduce the original engine configuration of the air compressor power, reduce the engine accessory power consumption, thereby reducing fuel consumption, can achieve about 2% of the fuel economy.

The third is low carbon emissions. Calculating the installation of 1,000 buses per year in urban buses will save 200,000 litres of diesel annually, which is equivalent to a reduction of 600 tons of CO2 emissions per year.

The fourth is to improve engine performance. Recovered compressed air is used to compensate the engine's low-speed working conditions and sudden acceleration conditions to compensate for the lack of efficiency of the low-speed supercharger and the lack of intake of the supercharger and improve the low-speed response of the engine. Reduce the production of black smoke.

The fifth is to reduce maintenance costs. While recovering the braking energy, the system can also realize the engine-assisted braking function, reduce the wear of the brake pads, prolong the service life of the brake pads, and reduce the maintenance cost.

Sixth, it is a cost advantage. With the advent of electric hybrid power, some electric hybrid powers convert braking energy into electric energy for storage and utilization, and also realize the function of braking energy feedback for energy conservation. However, electric hybrid power requires additional motors, batteries, and new transmissions at a relatively high cost. The renewable air hybrid technology requires only the addition of a patented compressed air recovery device, compressed air tank, air motor, and some necessary piping. The cost is less than one-tenth that of electric hybrids, and the subsequent maintenance cost is comparable to conventional engines. .
