The Development Status of Domestic CNC Cutting Machine Industry in 2011

China as the world's largest producer, importer and consumer of CNC cutting machine tools. Early CNC cutting machine tools were state-run, with poor production efficiency and a low export ratio. However, CNC machine tool companies in China have vigorously reformed and eliminated redundant workers, and have emerged massively. After the incidents involving private enterprises with “simply streamlined personnel and high production value”, the situation has improved. At the same time, with the gradual study of the technical design concepts of Japan and the United States, the major markets have been invested in high-end industries such as automobiles, molds, and electronics, using technology cooperation or introduction. The foreign investment approach attracts Japanese and Taiwanese companies, which has resulted in a significant development of the CNC cutting machine tool industry.

However, with the experience of Dongguan Zhenleili Electromechanical Co., Ltd. engaged in the manufacturing of CNC cutting machine equipment for many years, the domestic CNC cutting machine manufacturing industry still has obvious “big but not strong” features. This is not only reflected in the strength of technology research and development, but more importantly, compared with other manufacturing powerhouses, the domestic CNC cutting machine industry still has a clear gap in terms of structure, level, R&D and service capabilities. For example, although the market share of domestic CNC cutting machine tools has risen to 70.1% in 2009, the number of imported CNC cutting machine tools is still as high as US$5.9 billion. Most of the imported products are high-end CNC cutting machine tools (including complete sets of production lines).

It can be seen that, for the needs of high-end products, domestic CNC cutting machine tools have long been unsatisfactory, with low-end product overcapacity and high-end products relying mainly on imports.

CNC cutting machine mainframe enterprises are large but not strong, small but not sophisticated; supporting capabilities are weak, and the industrial division of labor is not clear; independent innovation ability is weak, and basic, key and common technologies are not yet fully grasped; the development of high-performance numerical control systems and functional components lags behind the host The industrial chain system corresponding to the development of CNC cutting machine tools is not perfect; the engineering integration capability is weak, and the complete production lines for key manufacturing industries such as automobiles are still in their infancy, and there are a lot of high-end talents such as R&D, advanced mechanics, and compound management. All these restrict the rapid and sustainable development of the CNC cutting machine industry.
