Two Cummins Euro 6 Engines Debut at IAA

Two Cummins natural gas engines, the ISL8.9 G and ISX12 G, made their debut at the IAA International Commercial Vehicles Show in Hannover. Among them, ISL8.9 G engine power between 250 and 320 horsepower, maximum torque of 1356 Nm, can be applied to alternative fuel buses and trucks; ISX12 G engine power range of 330 to 400 horsepower, maximum torque of 1966 cattle · Meters, supporting alternative fuel heavy trucks.
Low-carbon energy solutions including natural gas have become increasingly popular. Their characteristics of being compressible, liquefiable, and recyclable are gaining attention from more and more environmentally conscious users and local governments. Cummins has been a leader in natural gas engines and has won the trust of global passenger and truck customers with its superior low-speed torque, quick response and low noise operation. In addition, the ultra-simple design allows its products to be easily upgraded from the Euro V platform to the Euro VI platform with minimal improvements.
Cummins natural gas engines use cooled exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) combined with equivalent-combustion technology. With more than 1 million engines tested so far, Cummins EGR systems have been proven to achieve low-temperature combustion and reduce engine exhaust emissions and noise. Equivalent control combustion refers to the full combustion of fuel, guaranteeing full oxidation, so as to achieve efficient three-way catalytic aftertreatment.
The three-way catalytic technology that is convenient for maintenance will continue from the Euro 5 platform to the Euro 6 platform. It is an efficient, simple passive triggering component that, together with the exhaust muffler, can operate within the entire operating range without the need for a diesel particulate filter (DPF) and selective catalytic reduction (SCR) system. Provide continuous emission control.
The Cummins Euro 6 natural gas engine will be augmented with an enclosed crankcase ventilation (CCV) and an upgraded version of the electronic control system. The new embedded CCV system will minimize waste gas and optimize the use of greenhouse gases. The upgraded version of the electronic control module will manage the onboard diagnostic system under the Euro 6 platform.
The ISL8.9 G engine is currently on the market, and the ISX12 G engine is expected to be available in the North American market in early 2013. In addition, a larger ISX15 G engine will be available in 2015.
