Tianjin Carries Out "Yellow Label Car" Governance

From January 1, next year, Tianjin will implement the second phase of the "Yellow Label Vehicle" restriction measures, comprehensively carry out the "Yellow Label Vehicle" governance, and strive to solve motor vehicle pollution problems. The reporter learned from the city’s only motor vehicle recycling and dismantling company, Tianjin Guolian Scrap Vehicle Recycling and Dismantling Co., Ltd., that since the implementation of the “Yellow Label Car” policy subsidy on March 10 this year, it has cumulatively More than 10,000 standard vehicles have already reached one-third of the total expected recycling.

"Yellow Label" is an abbreviation for highly polluting vehicles. It is a petrol vehicle that has not yet reached the emission standard in the country I, or a diesel vehicle that does not meet the national III emission standard. Because it is labeled as a yellow environmental protection label, it is called "Yellow Label Car." The city has 113,000 "yellow-marked vehicles". After calculation by the relevant departments, about 30,000 "yellow-marked vehicles" are still in operation and are recyclable, and the rest are in the state of owner's disposal. If the "yellow vehicle" meets the early elimination criteria as stipulated in the subsidy, it can apply for a subsidy. Since the next year, the outer ring road (excluding) roads and other regions on the "yellow car" limit line, so the city's "yellow car" recycling network will also be adjusted.

Since the implementation of the "Yellow Label Vehicle" policy subsidy on March 10 this year, Tianjin Guolian Scrapped Vehicle Recycling and Dismantling Co., Ltd. has accumulated more than 10,000 "yellow-marked vehicles" with a policy subsidy, totaling over 17,000 tons. Taking a private car as an example, if there is no subsidy, the owner can only get 500 to 700 yuan for scrapping. After the subsidy is implemented, the subsidy for scrapping the “yellow-mark car” in advance has reached 6,000 yuan to 18,000 yuan. "Car owners" are more attractive. According to environmental experts, “Yellow Label Car” is one of the main air pollution sources. Eliminating 10,000 “Yellow Label Cars” is equivalent to reducing the pollution emissions of 280,000 new cars.
