Long Beach Port Welcomes "The Busiest Month"

Last month was the busiest month of the Port of Long Beach this year and the highest throughput since October 2007.

For the maritime import business, the traditional “peak season” is August to October each year, because with the holiday close to the end of the year, retailers must prepare for the soaring shopping volume.

In August of this year, the container throughput of the Long Beach Port reached 632.922 million TEU, the import volume increased by 19.2% to 327.77 million TEU, and the export volume increased by 20% to 154.18 million TEU.

The container throughput this year so far has increased by 13.6% year-on-year, of which imports have increased by 16.2%, exports have increased by 10.9%, and empty counters have increased by 11%.
