The high sulphur content of domestic oil products makes it easy to plug the nozzle opening and increases the number of maintenance objectively. When high-pressure common-rail engines are being repaired, they have high technical requirements for equipment and operators, while the core technologies of EGR engines are in their own hands, and the production capacity is not limited, and the maintenance is easy and the requirements for oil products are low. The EGR heavy-duty truck market performed well, and many heavy-duty truck companies are gearing up to see it. According to the reporter's understanding, some heavy-duty truck companies are in full swing planning to launch their own EGR heavy trucks. Engine companies such as Weichai and Yuchai have begun to develop EGR engines.

An informed source from Yuchai told reporters that the company’s EGR heavy-duty engine is in the testing phase. He said: "Companies are reluctant to announce information on the development of EGR engines because the EGR technology is still in a sensitive period and should not be advertised."

In addition, heavy truck companies also directly purchase bulk EGR engines from CNHTC. At the dealer conference held in August of this year, Anhui Valin also invited representatives from Sinotruk and Weichai to demonstrate that Hualing can provide high pressure common rail heavy trucks and EGR heavy trucks. This shows that many companies do not want to become "watchers" in the heavy truck market. They believe that it is imperative to abandon the technical line of argument and provide the market with competitive products as soon as possible.

EGR heavy truck will be more and more

From a technical point of view, domestic EGR heavy truck technology is maturing. CNHTC EGR engine has completed technical research and development, bench testing and road testing, and can be mass-produced.

According to sources, the EGR engine that Weichai is currently developing can launch samples after 3 to 6 months. Other heavy truck companies may also launch EGR heavy trucks before the end of the year. Since EGR products can be introduced within a short period of time, why is it now? The source told reporters that the EGR engine had not been introduced before, mainly because of concerns that it could not be approved by the National Development and Reform Commission. China National Heavy Duty Truck Group has completed the training of after-sales service for EGR engines, and related parts have also been sent to the regional spare parts center warehouse to ensure that there are adequate reserves of EGR special parts in order to gain market opportunities.
