With the implementation of the country's four projects soon, the current internal combustion engine exhibition, companies have focused on the four countries, the country five related products; at the same time, the light engine of the country five and Europe six technical routes have received more attention.

Lightweight diesel engine
At this exhibition, engine companies highlighted their respective light diesel engines while demonstrating their main products.

The domestic heavy machine Weichai not only brought the WP13 heavy-duty diesel engine, but also brought the WP3, RA series of light aircraft, and played the "Weichai light came!" advertising slogan.

According to Weichai technicians, the WP3 engine is a light diesel engine introduced by Weichai from the Italian VM company. It is an important part of the strategic layout of Weichai's full range of engines. "WP3 engine has good heat exchange performance, light weight, low vibration and noise, high reliability. It has made a lot of optimization and improvement in the improvement of the combustion system structure, new materials and new process applications, and vehicle matching. Vibration and noise, but also improve the driving comfort." He said that the WP3 engine produced by Yangchai, has begun to support the domestic light trucks and other products. "Recently, it has been successfully installed on JAC Shuai Ling."

Another RA series diesel engine (same platform as WP3, more suitable for European light passengers and SUVs), also cited from Italian VM, adopts the latest electronically controlled high pressure common rail fuel injection system in the world, and also uses medium-cooled booster , Cooling exhaust gas recirculation, electronic throttle, variable geometry turbocharging and other technologies, rated power up to 130KW, peak torque up to 460N.m, 100km fuel consumption around 9L, with high power, high torque, low fuel consumption, Low noise and other features. "This engine has been successfully installed on Yaxing VAN vehicles and has completed high temperature and plateau tests."

Among the entire range of products Yuchai brings, in addition to the YC6L330-60 engine that meets Euro 6 standards, the internal dissection display machines of the YC6S330-60, the YC4L20 and the YC4D20, etc. have become the A major highlight of the ICE.

As one of the main thrusts of light power, the YC4S series is a four-valve engine designed and developed by Yuchai for the mid-to-high-end light truck market and a European engine R&D organization. It has a compact structure, light weight, low emissions, low fuel consumption, and low noise. Yuchai technician told reporters.

Another YC4Y20 engine supporting light passengers, pickup trucks, and MPVs is a diesel engine commissioned by Yuchai Austrian AVL company. It has two displacements of 1.99L and 2.17L, and the power covers 120-170PS. According to reports, the engine passed the strict assessment of the European machinery development program, the service life of more than 300,000 kilometers, has a reliable and durable, strong power, low fuel consumption, excellent NVH performance, emission levels meet the European V and above standards.

At this year's show, JAC Navistar, which will soon be mass-produced, has also brought in two domestic engines, the Maisford 3.2H and Maisford 4.8L. Jianghuai Navistar staff told the reporter that after two years of technical reserves and localization improvements, these two engines have now achieved small-volume production, have assembled hundreds of vehicles and will be mass-produced by the end of this year.

National IV implementation of the near-term convergence of technology

Judging from the technical route, the engine technologies of various companies have a certain degree of convergence. In the four countries, the medium- and heavy-duty diesel engines with a capacity of more than 5L mainly use the common rail + SCR after-treatment system, while the light diesel engines with the size below 5L mainly use the EGR + DOC + POC route.

Dongfeng Chaochai technicians told the reporter that this is related to the economy of the engine and the user's usage habits. "The price of EGR is low, and there is no need to add urea, but the fuel consumption is higher and it is more suitable for short-distance logistics; the price of SCR line is relatively high, but it is acceptable for heavy diesel engines."

For the national five engines, the technical routes of the companies are also relatively consistent. In terms of light diesel engines, from the perspective of the current state-of-the-art five-engine model, the company mainly adopts the EGR+DOC+DPF (particle trap) technology route. Heavy-duty engines are still mainly based on the SCR line. Only by adjusting the SCR calibration on the basis of the original national IV emissions can the country achieve five emissions.

As the only exhibit on the site that meets Euro 6 emissions standards, according to Yuchai technicians, the YC6L330-60 Euro 6 diesel engine for the passenger car market follows the YC6L platform. In terms of technical improvement, it is mainly on the engine body. Adding EGR, a throttle valve is added to the intake air to precisely control the intake air; in the post-processing technology, the traditional SCR front end is added with a DPF particle trap to meet the requirements of purifying the exhaust gas and meeting the emission standards. .

Although Weichai did not bring Euro 6 products, it also demonstrated its technical route of the Euro 6 engine. According to the introduction of the exhibition board, Weichai currently only plans to develop the Euro 6 engines of the two series WP7 and WP12, and will adopt the technical route of EGR+VGT/WGT+DOC+DPF+SCR.
