At present, most domestic mainstream truck companies have made optimistic expectations for this year's truck market. However, Wang Xia believes that although the signs of recovery in truck production and sales in March, but the market performance in January-March is still a big contrast with expectations, expectations of a growth of 10% seems somewhat optimistic. This to a certain extent is related to the deviation of the enterprises’ understanding of the macroeconomic trends, the changes in the actual needs of the domestic market, and the fine-tuning of macroeconomic policies.
It is understood that since 2003, China's truck industry has experienced a golden decade of rapid development. The comparative advantage of the entire industry is very obvious, and it is played incisively under the support of China's huge market. However, this comparative advantage of relying on low-tech content and low price to bring higher cost-effectiveness is worrying. Wang Xia said that if it does not make a transition, it will be difficult for Chinese trucks to continue to “have a single megacash†in the domestic market. It will be even more difficult if China’s trucks have bigger operations in the international market.
