14,000 pieces of infringing auto parts Qingdao port were investigated and the case value was the largest in the country

When a group of auto parts that were declared as "unbranded" were ready for export, they were recently discovered by Customs officers at the Huangdao Port with the "WEICHAI" trademark logo, which numbered more than 14,000 pieces. On the 26th, Qingdao Customs released the news and confirmed by the right holder that the goods were infringed. This is also the case with the largest value of infringement of trademark rights of key enterprises since the National Customs launched the “Long Teng” action.

On October 19th, the Customs of Huangdao Customs, a member of the Qingdao Customs, carried out a manual inspection of 3 containerized cargos exported to a country in Africa. It was found that auto parts such as starters that were declared as “unbranded” had “WEICHAI” logos. After comparing the "IPR Customs Protection System", the goods were suspected of infringement.

After the inventory, the quantity of the goods amounted to more than 14,000 pieces and the value of the goods was more than 800,000 yuan. After being confirmed by the right holder, the above goods allegedly infringed on the trademark exclusive right of the right holder registered in the General Administration of Customs.

It is reported that on August 22 this year, the national mobilization meeting for the “Long Teng” operation of the National Customs will be held in Qingdao. Since September 1, the National Customs has launched a 3-month special IPR protection initiative for exporting IPR-dominant enterprises, mainly exporting to Africa, the Middle East, Latin America, and exporting countries and regions along the “Belt and Road” route. Major traditional products such as home appliances, mobile electronic products, construction machinery, daily necessities, holiday products, and featured products are mainly engaged in the implementation of special law enforcement to assist enterprises in their rights protection.

Since the launch of the operation, Qingdao Customs has intensified its efforts to crack down, intensified its service, increased publicity efforts, focused on the risk of IP infringement of key enterprises, strengthened risk assessment and deployment, and coordinated collaboration, and at the same time built a plastic-plastics measure for key enterprises to help enterprises go overseas.
