U.S. Department of Energy plans to establish new energy-saving standards for boiler fans

The United States Department of Energy (DOE) has begun the process of legislation and data collection, considering the establishment of new energy efficiency standards or electricity standards for the air circulation of residential heating and cooling systems (ie, boiler fans).

The DOE has prepared a framework document that details the analysis and coverage of the legislation and points out several issues that the ministry hopes to obtain comments. The ministry will also accept comments from all parties on the framework document and consider it when developing testing procedures and energy efficiency standards.
