The world’s sixth-largest tire company, Sumitomo Rubber Industries Co., Ltd., “Sangzhong†in the central province of Hunan, wants to establish a production base in its provincial capital, Changsha. The president of Japan's Sumitomo Rubber Industry Co., Ltd., Mr. Miyoshi Sanye came to Changsha on June 19 to conduct a site visit and discuss related issues.
Sumitomo Rubber Industries Co., Ltd. is a subsidiary of Japan's Sumitomo Group, one of the world's top 500 companies. It is mainly engaged in the manufacture of automotive tires and construction vehicle tires. In the 1990s, Sumitomo brought Dunlop tires to the Chinese market and established Sumitomo Rubber (Changshu) Co., Ltd. in Changshu, Jiangsu in 2002. In order to further expand the Chinese market, the company has sent several people to Changsha for a preliminary inspection of its establishment of the second tire production base in China.
Mitsuo Sanzo stated that China’s auto market has great potential. Sumitomo Rubber has advanced tire production technology, and it is optimistic about Hunan’s unique location advantages, good development of the auto industry and favorable conditions in various aspects. He hopes both parties can further expand cooperation space and promote common development.
