The Ballast Water Convention was adopted by IMO as early as February 2004, and South Korea prepared for the entry into force of the Convention by implementing ballast water treatment in 2007. At present, nine products in South Korea have received approval from IMO.
MLTM hopes to introduce the development status, capabilities and technology of the current ballast water treatment system in Korea to IMO member countries during the conference and promote the entry into force of the Convention.
