According to the person in charge of the Planning and Development Division of Shaanxi Coal Industry Bureau, Shaanxi Province has at least 100 billion cubic meters of CBM reserves. Considering the safety production of coal mines, coal mine methane has been used as a dangerous gas for coal mines to empty along with coal mining. This wastes resources and pollutes the environment. Every year, coal mines in China discharge more than 19 billion cubic meters of coalbed methane.
With the advancement of western development, especially in the current situation of energy shortage, the development of coalbed methane as an energy source has attracted great attention in Shaanxi Province. Hancheng Coal Mine and Tongchuan Mine, both subsidiaries of the Group, are preparing to directly extract coal-bed methane from the surface of the ground and build a number of CBM power stations.
Not long ago, the 11th expert group of national coal mine safety expert consultations visited the Hancheng Mining Bureau of Shaanxi Province and the Tongchuan Mining Bureau on the spot and conducted consultations to study the treatment of coalbed methane. According to the opinions of the expert group, Shaanxi Province is actively preparing for the establishment of a coal safety technology research institute to specifically study the management and utilization of coal mine gas disasters.
The reporter learned from the interview that the main problem currently plaguing the comprehensive utilization of CBM in Shaanxi is the lack of technology and funds. According to relevant experts, the content of coalbed methane extracted during coal mining is low, not exceeding 27%, and comprehensive utilization is difficult. Ground extraction and purification technologies are still immature in China. Shaanxi Qinlian Coal Bed Methane Science and Technology Development Co., Ltd., which is dedicated to the development of coalbed methane, is preparing to invest several hundred million yuan to develop coalbed methane in places such as Hancheng, Shaanxi, and plans to build projects such as power generation, chemical and gas stations, and is currently attracting investment.
