A new generation of FC-32 flexible hydrocracking catalyst with independent intellectual property rights has been launched in the China Petroleum & Chemical Research Institute of Fushun Petrochemical, and recently successfully passed the technical appraisal of Sinopec in Beijing. The preparation process of FC-32 catalyst is simple, the product repeatability is good, and there is no special environmental protection problem in the preparation process. Experts suggest that industrial application tests be carried out as soon as possible.
The catalyst uses a modified Y-type molecular sieve as a cracking component and a metal tungsten-nickel as a hydrogenation component. The carrier is prepared by a new method and the metal component is impregnated to make the acidic component and the metal component both good. The distribution of the catalyst, has a high mechanical strength and excellent catalytic properties. The performance evaluation results show that the FC-32 catalyst has suitable hydrocracking activity, high open-ring selectivity, good temperature sensitivity, significant priority for cracking heavy component capability, and good production operation under different pressure levels. Flexibility and raw material oil adaptability can be widely used to produce high-value products such as Gaofang heavy naphtha, high cetane clean diesel oil, and tail gas ethylene cracking raw materials with significantly lower dry spots than raw oil. The FC-32 catalyst had undergone industrial scale-up tests at Fushun, a catalyst company of Sinopec. The test results show that FC-32 catalyst has good preparation repeatability, product quality is stable, and it can be used for industrial mass production. Industrial amplification catalyst activity and selectivity are repeated laboratory test results, to meet the requirements of long-term stable operation of industrial devices. The catalyst can flexibly adjust the production scheme by appropriately changing the reaction temperature according to market demand.

As the quality of domestic crude oil deteriorates year by year, the import volume of high-sulfur crude oil has increased significantly. The environmental protection requirements for the refining process itself and the quality of petroleum products have become stricter, and higher requirements have been put forward for hydrocracking technology. Therefore, the development of hydrocracking technology that can produce high quality tail oils under different pressures to meet the growing demand for ethylene production has become a major issue that needs to be tackled urgently. To this end, the Fushun Research Institute of Petroleum and Chemical Industry developed the FC-32 hydrocracking catalyst capable of producing high-quality tail gas at high and medium pressures, and achieved success.
